12 v power connections to Seatalk1 bus - jeffhart - 03-03-16 04:38 PM

I have read the postings that there should not be a 12 v power connection to a Seatalk1 bus connected via the Seatalk1/Seatalkng connector block; that instead 12 v power will be fed to the Seatalk1 bus from the Seatalkng system. My system has an S3 corepack for the autopilot. Do I disconnect 12 v power from the connection on that S3? Or does it need its own 12 v power?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Jeff,

Q1. Do I disconnect 12 v power from the connection on that S3?

A1. No. You simply disconnect the red SeaTalk power lead from the S3 Autopilot Course Computer's red SeaTalk terminal. Doing so will prevent the S3 from supplying power to the SeaTalk bus.

Q2. Or does it need its own 12 v power?

A2. The S3 Autopilot Course Computer will continue to be powered as it had been in the past.
