Linear Rudder Position Sensor - TravisPWoodard - 04-03-17 04:40 PM I recently had my hydraulic steering seals replaced and came back to my unit with the rudder position sensor disconnected from the ram. I reconnected the end to the ram, but noticed the seal a the end of the sensor was disconnected. Is there some sort of fluid that needs to be in the sensor, or can I simply tighten the seal? Is there some sort of fluid that needs to be in the sensor, or can I simply tighten the seal? A. No. Raymarine's rotary rudder reference units are not fluid filled. They are however sealed to prevent water intrusion. RE: Linear Rudder Position Sensor - TravisPWoodard - 04-04-17 04:01 PM Thank you. I'll cross my fingers that no corrosion happend during the time the seal was loose. RE: Linear Rudder Position Sensor - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 04-04-17 04:03 PM You're welcome. |
