Linear Rudder Position Sensor - TravisPWoodard - 04-03-17 04:40 PM

I recently had my hydraulic steering seals replaced and came back to my unit with the rudder position sensor disconnected from the ram. I reconnected the end to the ram, but noticed the seal a the end of the sensor was disconnected.

Is there some sort of fluid that needs to be in the sensor, or can I simply tighten the seal?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Travis,

Q. Is there some sort of fluid that needs to be in the sensor, or can I simply tighten the seal?
A. No. Raymarine's rotary rudder reference units are not fluid filled. They are however sealed to prevent water intrusion.

Thank you. I'll cross my fingers that no corrosion happend during the time the seal was loose.
