Which cables can I shorten? - Tim22 - 04-16-17 08:07 AM

I am installing an ev 100 auto pilot and would like to know if I can shorten the lead from the rudder sensor to the acu. Also, can I shorten the control line from the acu to the wheel motor. There seems to be a lot of wire and I have few places to hide the excess.

Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Tim,

Q1. Can I shorten the lead from the rudder sensor to the acu?
A1. As the rudder reference transducer is essentially a rheostat, it is indeed possible to shorten the rudder transducer's leads.

Q2. Can I shorten the control line from the acu to the wheel motor?
A2. As these are simply power leads, it is indeed possible to shorten the drive motor leads.
