A New GPS Which one? - John ROBERT A McGinn - 05-04-17 04:22 PM

Hi all:

I am in the market for a new Raymarine GPS/depth unit maybe 7 inches or 9 inches ..Small = better for mounting in this tiny boat (1987 Crestliner Phantom 185) ........
Looking at a Dragon Fly 7 Pro... Any thoughts??

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum John,

The Dragonfly 7 Pro product is indeed nice. However Dragonfly displays top out at 7" screen size and have no ability to interface with other marine electronics products. That said, Dragonfly products represent a real value for entry level fishfinder/chartplotter products. The same CHIRP (conical) sonar / DownVision sonar features are also found in Raymarine's recently introduced Axiom 7 DV Multifunction Displays. These displays feature blistering fast processing, enhanced chartplotting features, and unlike Dragonfly displays, may form the basis for an integrated/expanded marine electronics system. I have seen street prices for the latter on the Internet starting a $730.
