Adding SiriusXM Satellite Radio features to a Raymarine system - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-08-17 02:01 PM Adding SiriusXM Satellite Radio features to a Raymarine system While use of the SiriusXM Satellite Weather features of a Raymarine MFD requires that the MFD be interfaced to a compatible Raymarine SiriusXM Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver, SiriusXM Satellite Radio features may be added to a system featuring Raymarine equipment via either of the following two methods (NOTE: SiriusXM Satellite Radio requires a SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription (not to be confused with a SiriusXM Satellite Marine Weather subscription)): - Connect the audio output port of a Raymarine SiriusXM Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver to the AUX input port of an entertainment system or pre-amp. When desiring to listen to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, the entertainment system or pre-amp would need to be configured to listen to the AUX port of the entertainment system unit or pre-amp which has been connected to the Raymarine SiriusXM Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver's audio output port. Volume level will be controlled via the MFD's SiriusXM app and/or entertainment system or amplifier. When using this method of installation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel selection may only be performed through the Raymarine MFD's user interface. NOTE: In order to utilize the SiriusXM app or Audio app's SiriusXM channel/program selection feature within LightHouse II or LightHouse 3 software respectively, the system must be interfaced to a compatible SiriusXM Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver (SR100, SR6, or SR150), this receiver must be networked to the Raymarine system, and this receiver must be interfaced to the audio system's AUX IN port in the manner specified above. - Connect a SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (or other compatible SiriusXM tuner) to the SiriusXM satellite radio ready entertainment system. When desiring to listen to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, the entertainment system's listening source setting would need to be configured to SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Volume level will be controlled via entertainment system and MFD's Fusion or Audio app. One advantage of this method of installation operator would be capable of SiriusXM channel/program selection, irrespective of whether the marine electronics system was switched ON or switched OFF. When using this method of installation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel selection may only be performed through the entertainment system's (or compatible remote's) user interface. Should one's system feature a SiriusXM SVX-300 Satellite Radio Receiver to which the SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription has been tied to, then the entertainment system's controls, remote, or mobile app (ex. FusionLink, etc.) running on a mobile device (ex. smartphone or tablet) would need to be used to control SiriusXM program selection. NOTE: A feature request has been logged to consider support for SiriusXM channel/program selection for compatible marine entertainment systems utilizing a SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner (or other compatible SiriusXM tuner) within a future LightHouse 3 software update. Owner's of Wi-Fi equipped MFDs running LightHouse II sofware may work around this limitation by installing the Fusion Link app onto an mobile device (i.e. Android or Apple smartphone or tablet). After configuring the mobile device's Wi-Fi settings to connect to the MFD, then the Fusion Link app may be executed on the mobile device to control all supported Fusion head unit functions, including SiriusXM channel/program selection.
