New Axiom vs Dragonfly - Rodster - 05-15-17 04:56 AM I previously had a Dragonfly 7 and loved it. Unfortunately, I had to sell it because the transducer was too large for my 55lb thrust trolling motor. I know the new Axiom's have faster processors, touch screens, and RealTime 3D if I want that. In terms of just the quality of the Sonar and Downscan, are the new units better than the Dragonfly or should I expect about the same results? RE: New Axiom vs Dragonfly - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-15-17 10:15 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Rodster, While the processing is much faster within the Axiom MFDs and a/c/e/eS/gS-Seires MFDs, I would expect that CHIRP and DownVision sonar imaging produced by Dragonfly displays, the ax8/eSx8 MFDs, the CP100, Axiom DV MFDs, and Axiom RV MFDs would be quite comparable. It is possible that future updates to the Axiom MFDs which have been interfaced to a RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducer may include heading and heave compensation, permitting Axiom MFDs which have been interfaced to a RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducer to support enhanced DownVision sonar imaging.
