GX2200 AIS to ES75 MFD - Gmoney - 03-12-16 04:42 PM Saw some posts regarding networking the Standard Horizon GX2200 to the ES75. Am I missing something or can I simply use a R70414 cable to go from the GX2200 NMEA 0183 out to the ES75 NMEA 0183 in? Please let me know RE: GX2200 AIS to ES75 MFD - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 03-15-16 09:27 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Gmoney, The R70414 Video Input / NMEA 0183 Cable may indeed be used to interface an AIS receiver/transceiver to an eS7x MFD. However, while Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs are designed to share AIS (as well as all other system data) with one another via an Ethernet (RayNet/SeaTalkhs) network, these MFDs are not designed to bridge AIS data to SeaTalkng. Accordingly, should one desire to share AIS data with an i70 MFID or other SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 device, then it would be recommended that the AIS receiver/transceiver be interfaced to the MFD via a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng backbone. NMEA 0183 AIS receiver/transceiver data may be bridged to SeaTalkng using third party NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging devices (ex. Actisense NGW-1-STNG, etc.). |
