Raymarine Yamaha Command-Link Plus Cable - [email protected] - 07-23-17 08:16 AM

I have a 2017 Yamaha F300 with Command Link Plus. Does the subject cable go from the Yamaha Hub to the Raymarine NMEA 2000 backbone? If so, why does Yamaha say that their NMEA 2000 Gateway is required? Thanks for any guidance on that?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum rjabend,

Q. Does the subject cable go from the Yamaha Hub to the Raymarine NMEA 2000 backbone?
A. No. The subject cable will be interfaced to a NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Raymarine recommends its ECI-100 Engine Gateway for this purpose. The ECI-100 features two interfaces, one which will be interfaced to the Command Link+ hub and the other which will be interfaced as a spur to the SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone. To view more information on interfacing the ECI-100 to a SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone, click here.

Q2. If so, why does Yamaha say that their NMEA 2000 Gateway is required?
A2. See the response to Q1.
