VoyagePlanner Route Creation and Pan and Zoom - epc7405 - 07-24-17 03:18 PM

1. Route Creation is cumbersome since when you get to the end of the chart on the screen there is no way to easily move the chart with the mouse. Panning must be done using Zoom or + or - keys or the keyboard cursor arrows and it is very difficult to control even with the control key and shift key feature.

2. Can a new feature be added to allow use of the mouse (hand pan) while building a route or a feature similar to the E series where an arrow automatically pops up allowing the user to pan the chart.

3. The Hide Waypoints feature is very useful to clear clutter, however, it also hides the waypoints on any route that is shown on the screen. Can this be corrected?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum epc7405,

Q1. Route Creation is cumbersome since when you get to the end of the chart on the screen there is no way to easily move the chart with the mouse. Panning must be done using Zoom or + or - keys or the keyboard cursor arrows and it is very difficult to control even with the control key and shift key feature.
A1. Please note that the right mouse menu also offers range controls. That said, a feature request will be submitted to change the appearance of the cursor from crosshair to an arrow as the cursor approaches the edge of the chart pane (ala RayTech Planner). When the cursor is then an arrow, the chart will pan in the direction of the arrow. Moving the cursor away from the edge of the chart pane will cause it to revert to a crosshair to permit resumption of route creation.

Q2. Can a new feature be added to allow use of the mouse (hand pan) while building a route or a feature similar to the E series where an arrow automatically pops up allowing the user to pan the chart.
A2. See the response to Q1

Q3. The Hide Waypoints feature is very useful to clear clutter, however, it also hides the waypoints on any route that is shown on the screen. Can this be corrected?
A3. Moving the waypoints to be included within the route to be created to a new folder and then commanding the program to show waypoints within the folder should address this issue.
