I have a 2006 era ST4000+ autohelm. When I engage the unit to just stay on its current course it will shut off and then immediately restart in the standby mode. It seems it happens mostly if there is a gust of wind that tends to push the boat off course.
I would appreciate any ideas of what is causing this and how to correct it.

For clarification purposes, does the ST4000+ screen go blank (i.e. like some switched OFF power) or does it simply go into Standby mode.
