Depths / distance supported by DownVision, RealVision 3D, and High CHIRP - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 08-16-17 10:46 AM Depths / distance supported by DownVision, RealVision 3D, and High CHIRP - DownVision sonar imaging is supported in depths up to 600' when using a DownVision or RealVision Transducer. - RealVision 3D sonar imaging is supported in depths up to 300' when using a RealVision Transducer(s). - low power (200W), high frequency CHIRP (Conical) sonar is supported in depths up to 900' when using a DownVision, CPT-S, or RealVision Transducer(s). - SideVision range is supported out to 300' on each side of the vessel, permitting the system to scan a path having a width of up to 600'. Notes: - when a Y-Cable is used with a Axiom MFD, the MFD will not support High CHIRP (Conical sonar) and will instead support traditional 50kHz/200kHz sonar when interfaced to a compatible 50kHz/200kHz Transducer. - high CHIRP conical sonar performance may be reduced in waters having significant thermocline features. Significant thermocline features are not uncommon on the Pacific coast of North America. In systems featuring an Axiom Pro RVX MFD, it would be recommended that a compatible 1kW 50kHZ / 200kHz transducer or 1kW CHIRP transducer additionally be installed onboard the vessel to support operation in deeper waters. In systems featuring Axiom MFDs, it would typically be recommended that a a CP370 w/compatible 1kW 50kHZ / 200kHz transducer or CP470 w/compatible 1kW CHIRP transducer additionally be installed onboard the vessel to support operation in deeper waters. In-hull versions of these transducers are available for applications where it may not be convenient or desirable to install a thru-hull transducer. RAYFAQ# |
