NMEA 0183 / NMEA 2000 communications via Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi equipped MFDs

At the time of this response, the Wi-Fi features of Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs is presently limited to use with Raymarine's Mobile apps, updating the software of these MFDs (and supported devices which have been networked to the MFD), and waypoint/route synchronization with mobile devices running the Navionics Boating app.

Those seeking to establish NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 communications via Wi-Fi with a Raymarine MFD having NMEA 0183 or Wi-Fi communications interfaces may do so by interfacing the MFD to a third party NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi communications interface (ex. Digital Yacht WLN10, COMAR NMEA-2-WiFi, Brookhouse iMux, etc.) or interfacing the SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone to a third party NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi communications interface (Digital Yacht NAVLINK WIRELESS NMEA2000 SERVER, SeaSmart WiFi, etc.). Such interfaces may permit communications of alphanumeric system data (ex. GPS, instrument, navigational data, etc.). NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi and NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi communications interfaces will not permit sharing of graphical data (radar imagery, fishfinder imagery, cartography, satellite weather, and camera video).
