SPX5 communicating to ST70 - Dkdoyle - 10-10-17 12:47 PM I discovered from reading threads that is not 100% useable until hooked up properly. Right now it is directly connected and provides depth, tiller control and incorrect heading. Not that I can find no means of doing the commissioning. I purchased the backbone kit and that is not what I needed. I would like to know precisely what I need to buy to make this work completely together. Thank you in advance. Deb RE: SPX5 communicating to ST70 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 10-11-17 10:21 AM Deb, When using the SPX5 Autopilot Course Computer with a ST70 Autopilot Control Head, these two items should each be interfaced as a spur to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone ... as such, the backbone kit is required. The SPX5 Wheel Pilot was initially produced with a ST6002+ Autopilot Control Head and unfortunately, the currently posted documentation exclusively references this control head instead of the ST70 Autopilot Control Head ... this will soon change. The attached document addresses commissioning using the ST70 Autopilot Control Head. |
