(DG) Axiom and older wheel pilot and displays - gregrohde@gmail.com - 01-12-18 11:06 PM

I'm hoping to go with and Axiom 9 and wondering if it will recognize and/or interface with my ST4000+ wheelpilot. If so, what features might I expect to get on the MFD ? I understand my ST60 displays will work with it as well should I choose to keep them ? Install is on a 36' sailboat built 2001

Thanks in advance for your help

Greg

Hi gregrohde@gmail.com
thank you for your enquiry.

The AXIOM 9 will interface with the ST4000+ through a SeaTalk to STng converter.

Further general details of systems using converters, can be found here .

The Converter will support the autopilot information, click here for further information.

However, the AXIOM will not control the ST4000+, only current Evolution autopilots can be controlled by AXIOM.

The basic method of operation is to build a route comprising multiple waypoints or even just a single waypoint, select the AXIOM to follow the route and steer to the waypoint (s), then engage AUTO on the ST4000+ and then engage TRACK mode, the ST4000+ will then follow the route on the AXIOM.
