Updating Autohelm 100 and Raydata units - Hypnautical - 01-16-18 01:17 PM

I have a functioning older autopilot system consisting of an autohelm 100, Raydata display, flux gate compass, rudder position sensor and Ray pilot 65 remote, and hydraulic unit.

As the Raydata display became barely readable, (I wanted to view rudder position),
I installed an I70s display as well as a seatalk to n2k converter. This works quite well, and I can get rudder position on the I70s !

What I would like to know is, can I replace the Raydata display with a P70rs unit,so it becomes the rudder display and the autopilot control? Not sure if I could still also use the existing remote 65 which connects in via seatalk

Thanks

Hello Hypnautical,

The P70r unit will allow you to control the autopilot, but you will not be able to change settings/re-calibrate. So, it is not recommended to replace your Raydata display with a P70r.
