[CA] is my estimation about the depth of fish correct? - ray18 - 02-05-18 06:05 PM Hi, is my estimation about the depth of fish correct? So, I am at 18 feet depth of water. my Axiom 9" is showing fish in RED, ORANGE color, and BLUE color. So, I take 18/7=2.5 feet I divide by 7 because there are 7 colors in a Rainbow. (RED-shallowest, ORANGE, YELLOW, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet (the deepest). So RED fish is located between water surface and 2.5 feet. Orange fish is between 2.5 feet to 5 feet. and so on. Thanks. After doing so and when you range out, you will find that the grid includes a repeating color palette (repeats every 50') which may be used along with the grid as aid in determining the depth of objects suspended within the water column. In this case, you should divide 50' by 7. Accordingly, the colors will be of less use to those fishing very shallow water.
