[CA] M232 Operations - jkspain - 02-15-18 12:00 PM

I understand the M232 with an AXIOM running Lighthouse 3 can utilize the "clear cruise" functionality to ID "non water" objects in the M232 Field of View (FOV).

Can the M232 optically "lock on" to a non-water object and track it as long as it remains in the M232's FOV?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

Q1. Can the M232 optically "lock on" to a non-water object and track it as long as it remains in the M232's FOV?
A1. ClearCruise is supported by Axiom MFDs which have been interfaced to the FLIR M132 or M232 cameras. As you have suggested, this feature is designed to identify objects in the water and continue to track them as long as they remain within the FOV of the camera. ClearCruise features do not include automatically panning the camera to track objects as the exit the FOV.

Thanks for your answer. May I request a future enhancement to be able to select an object and have the M232 pan to continue tracking?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

The feature which you are seeking is more akin to the slew to queue feature supported by more advanced thermal cameras such FLIR's M3xx, M4xx, and M6xx thermal cameras. That said, your feature request will be logged accordingly.
