(DG) Type 1 Pump - GoodChance - 03-21-18 02:12 PM

A friend is selling a newer EV 200 autopilot system

Includes everything except the Type 1 pump

Question: Can I source any Type 1 autopilot pump to fit this unit/system? Or must this be a specific Raymarine branded Type 1 pump?

Hi GoodChance

Thank you for your enquiry.

We would strongly recommend the Raymarine pump since the ACU power profile is mapped to the motor characteristics of the motors we use in the pumps as well as the pump torque requirements.

Alternative pumps could be used as long as they have the same flow rate and current consumption, however, some pumps have very different start-up current draw to the continuous running current draw and this may cause damage to the ACU.
The warranty would not cover such failures in this case.

regards
