Use of self leveling radar mounts - DonM - 04-04-16 07:31 PM I have a self leveling mount by Scanstrut, model LMM-1. It is marketed as compatible with Raymarine domes 18" and 24" models RD418HD and RD424HD. The mount however does not have sufficient reach to prevent mechanical interference between the dome and the mount unless the dome is reversed, electrical plug facing forward. Can the unit be operated in this manner by sufficient adjustment to the heading correction? I am also working on a solution with the supplier of the mount. I think the reversing of the dome is not a good idea but affirmation from Raymarine will help my case with the supplier of the mount. As you have indicated, the radar bearing alignment configuration setting would need to be configured to match to proper alignment of the radome. |
