Can two VHF radios be interfaced to a single VHF antenna? - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-29-18 11:00 AM Can two VHF radios be interfaced to a single VHF antenna? For maximum VHF radio performance, it is recommended that a dedicated VHF antenna be used for each fixed mount VHF radio. However, should the vessel's design not permit an additional VHF antenna(s) then it is strongly recommended that a third party automatic two-way antenna selector (ex. Shakespeare AS-2, etc.) be installed to support using a single VHF antenna with two VHF radios to prevent damage to the receiver circuitry of the VHF radios. RAYFAQ# |
