Weather Receiver not detected after a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD software update - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 04-11-16 08:07 AM Weather Receiver not detected after a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD software update Should the MFDs within the system have previously detected ((HOME->SET-UP->MAINTENANCE->DIAGNOSTICS->SELECT DEVICE) the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver and now not do so after having updated the software within the system's MFDs, then the problem will typically be rooted in one of the following: - the SR150 SiriusXM Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver has not been updated latest available Raymarine product software update and should be updated according. It is additionally recommended that Raymarine MFDs be maintained with the llatest available Raymarine product software update. - not having configured the Weather Set-Up's Receiver Type (HOME->SET-UP->SYSTEM SETTINGS->EXTERNAL DEVICES->WEATHER SET-UP->RECEIVER TYPE) to match the model of SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver which has been installed within the system - if interfaced to a SR50 Sirius Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver, not having configured the proper MFD as the system's Data Master MFD. The Data Master MFD will typically be the MFD which has been the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver. A simple test to determine whether the MFD has been the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver would be to inspect the MFD's Select Device list for devices networked via SeaTalkng (vs SeaTalkhs (Ethernet)). Should the SeaTalk bus be powered and no devices be listed, then another MFD should be designated as the system's Data Master (HOME->MAINTENANCE->DATA MASTER). - not having powered the the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver ON ... as MFDs are not designed to supply power to a the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver, verify that the the system's SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver's power circuit has been switch ON by checking that the SiriusXM Satellite weather/radio receiver's Status LED is illuminated. - a network failure exists between the MFD and the Sirius Satellite Weather/Radio Receiver ... cables should be inspected for alterations, damage and cable bend resulting in bend diameters less than 6" ... as the latter may permanently damage communications cables.
