Portions of Navionics charts are shaded gray within MFDs running LightHouse II or 3 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 06-19-18 08:59 AM Portions of Navionics charts are shaded gray within MFDs running LightHouse II or LightHouse 3 software The light and gray shaded regions of Navionics cartography shown within the screen snapshot below are intended by Navionics to permit customers to visualize the geographic area for which Navionics Freshest Data updates (Nautical and SonarCharts) have been added to the chart card. For those with a Navionics+ chart card, the boundaries of the geographic area for which Freshest Data updates will are established by utilizing the box drawing feature of the Navionics Chart Installer application when installing Freshest Data updates to the chart card. The presence of light and gray shaded regions may also indicate that the Freshest Data update was incomplete. In the case of the latter, it would be recommended that the Navionics Freshest Data Update (to include Nautical Charts and SonarCharts) be performed again using a computer which is running the Navionics Chart Installer program. If using the Navionics Boating App on a mobile device, then you may want to consider configuring its PLOTTER SYNC->UPDATE CHARTS configuration setting to OFF, as it may cause the symptom described if the app not permitted sufficient time to complete downloading / synchronizing cartography updates.
