I acquired chart updates from Navionics, to update 4-year old chart data for my 2008 Tartan 4300. I have a 10-year E80 and E120 system with v5.69 Seatalk. The filesize from Navionics for the "All USA" file increased from 1.66GB to 6.66GB, and my system was overwhelmed with the detailed data. Although the systems booted and loaded occasionally, repositioning was extremely slow, and often the system rebooted or went to black screen at critical times. Are there alternative ways to update charts? It seems some advice should be publicized through Ratheon/Navionics as to which versions will work on which older systems.
