[DG11] Tacktick (Raymarine wireless) - Remi.dk - 07-17-18 07:15 AM NM100-2 with speed/depth transducer. I got a 1.5 to 2.5 knots readout in harbor, where there are absolute no current. Any ideas ? RE: [DG11] Tacktick (Raymarine wireless) - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-18-18 07:53 AM HI Remi.dk Thank you for your enquiry. If you remove the speed transducer from the housing in the hull and hold it steady, does the display still show a reading? If you leave the transducer out of the water for a couple of days, does this change and the reading drop tpo zero? This might suggest the transducer is allowing water into it's innards and this is causing the miss-reading. The other cause could be interference, possibly another piece of equipment has it's cables running alongside the transducer cable to the hull transmitter and the two are picking up interference. Try turning off other sources of power or data and check if the reading drops to Zero, check the cable route for the transducer - is there as coil of cable nearby a power source for other equipment maybe? Regards Derek RE: [DG11] Tacktick (Raymarine wireless) - Remi.dk - 07-20-18 01:11 AM When I take it out, it reads zero. No other electrical equipent in a range of 1.5-2m besides its own transmitter box. No other transducers or anything else. Its mounted in the original through hull housing, in the correct distance from the keel. RE: [DG11] Tacktick (Raymarine wireless) - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-20-18 11:07 AM Hi Remi.dk Just to summarise then, when the Speed Transducer is in the housing immersed in water it reads a false speed, but when removed from the housing and in the air, it reads zero? In this case we would suggest the transducer is faulty and will need to be replaced. Regards Derek |
