Old rudder indicator with Evolution Course Computer - Lew Springer - 04-19-16 11:56 PM

I currently use an S1 SmartPilot (E15016) with two rudder indicators (A22008) attached. If I upgrade to a new Evolution style course computer will my existing rudder indicators still work?

Yes, the rotary rudder reference sensor (M81105) that worked with the S1 Smartpilot autopilot system will work with the Evolution autopilot system, it would connect color for color to the ACU unit in the Evolution autopilot.

Thanks Steve. I was not referring to the position sensor attached to the rudder, but rather the rudder position indicator on my instrument panel.

The Seatalk 1 Rudder instrument display would work with the Evolution autopilot, the rudder reference sensor will need to be installed, and you would need a Seatalk to Seatalk NG converter and connect it to the Seatalk NG backbone established by the Evolution autopilot cabling.
