(specifically fuel consumption) when connected to an N2K back bone?

In short, yes. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Please note that it is recommended that the C-Series Classic MFD be updated with v5.16 software is you have not done so already to maximize performance of this and other features of the MFD.
