[CA11] 3rd party rudder transducer w ACU-100 - syfreedom - 10-10-18 03:42 AM

Does the ACU-100 accept third party rudder reference transducers, like VDO with just two pole cable? If so, how should it be connected?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum syfreedom,

Raymarine's autopilots are exclusively designed and tested for use with the M81105 Rotary Rudder Reference Transducer. Some manufacturers of autopilot mechanical drive units (ex. Octopus Autopilot Drive Systems, etc.) and steering systems (ex. [http://www.seastarsolutions.com/products/hydraulic-new/outboard-new/seastar_smartstick/]Teleflex SmartStick[/url], etc.) also manufacture rudder reference transducers which they have designed and tested for use with Raymarine autopilots. While it would not appear that the rudder transducer which you have identified will be compatible, it is recommended that the manufacturer of your rudder reference transducer be contacted for information concerning whether it has been designed and tested for use with Raymarine autopilots
