A98 and i40 - navherc130 - 04-28-16 01:34 PM

Triying to link the two. Do i need to power the converter seperate? Or will i40 draw from a98? Also, i have to select repeater on i40? Just want large digit water temp and speed. Must you have blanking plugs installed?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum navherc130,

Raymarine MFDs are neither designed to supply power to nor be powered by a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. As such, the backbones must be separately powered from a switched 12VDC power circuit. Should the backbone consist of only a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter, then the SeaTalkng Power Cable supplied with the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter will be connected to one of the spur ports of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter. The SeaTalk bus which will be connected to the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter's yellow SeaTalk socket will be powered by the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter.
