[CA11] axiom downvision - woodie7 - 12-11-18 03:48 AM

just wondering angle the down vision cone is on the axiom RV unit using the rv-100 transducer.
i notice the chirp has an A-scope ability but the DV doesn't and was curious at what sort of coverage i would get on the bottom compared to the chirp?
thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum woodie7,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Unlike high frequency CHIRP Sonar, DownVision sonar is best utilized for locating and identifying structure and is dependent upon the vessel moving past the object being scanned to develop a composite image from the thin sonar slices. In contrast, high frequency CHIRP Sonar may be used by a stationary or moving vessel to locate fish within the water column or on the bottom which are within the cone angle of the transducer.
