[CA11] Axiom working with Raymarine ST70 control head - Mal - 02-03-19 06:07 AM I am considering buying an Axiom 9 and connect to an ST70 control head with Smartpilot X30. I want to be able to create a complete course with many way points on the Axiom and then facilitate the ST70 to TRACK the complete course. Has anyone achieved this and could you please advise the button pressing sequence to achieve this. RE: [CA11] Axiom working with Raymarine ST70 control head - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 02-04-19 11:18 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mal, It is indeed possible to do as you have suggested. While LightHouse 3's Autopilot Control feature may not be used with SPX autopilots, the MFD will be able to send navigational data to the autopilot to permit use of the autopilot's Track feature. Transmission of navigational data will occur when the MFD is commanded to Go To Waypoint / Cursor Position or commanded to Follow Route. The autopilot must be commanded into and out of track mode via the autopilot's control head (AUTO->TRACK->TRACK). Finally, the ST70 autopilot control head and SPX autopilot course computer must both be updated with the latest available Raymarine product software updates. Please note that Axiom MFDs are not designed to update the software of ST70 and SPX autopilot components. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing alternative means of updating the software within your autopilot components. |
