e120 and dsm300 - jim35 - 05-05-16 08:38 AM Chuck , what would I need to run a dsm300 on a stand alone e120? Thanks , Jim RE: e120 and dsm300 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-05-16 10:16 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Jim, Unlike the MFD designs which followed the E-Series Classic MFDs, these MFD did not feature an auto-sensing Ethernet port. Accordingly, the E-Series Classic MFDs were designed to be interfaced to a DSM30/300 via a pair of SeaTalkhs (M) to RJ45 (M) Cables which were joined with either an SeaTalkhs Crossover Coupler or SeaTalkhs Network Switch. The DSM30/300 would additionally need to be interfaced to a compatible 600W, 1kW, or 2kW fishfinder transducer. RE: e120 and dsm300 - jim35 - 05-06-16 01:32 PM Chuck , thanks for the info . Would it hurt anything to but dielectric grease on the wire connectors . Thanks , Jim RE: e120 and dsm300 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-06-16 01:40 PM Jim, While use of dielectric compounds (ex. Dow Corning DC4, etc.) are not typically used or required, they can provide an added degree of corrosion protection for power and communications plugs/sockets of marine electronics. |
