[CA11] DST 800 to iTC-5 - cptdoug1 - 04-06-19 05:50 AM I have a Sea Talk NG DST 800 triducer. It is the second one in 5 years. The first failed with depth. The current has failed for sea temp, and is intermittent with depth now. I have all Raymarine electronics on a Sea Talk NG network. Axiom 7, i70, P70, ACU-400, EV 1. I have an iTC-5 to connect my mast top Raymarine Wind to the network. My question is can I replace my DST 800 with a DST 800 that will wire to the iTC-5? Given the iTC-5's separate connections for Depth and Speed/Temp it would seem I need a DST -800 with an eight wire cable to do that. RE: [CA11] DST 800 to iTC-5 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 04-09-19 07:41 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Doug, Q1. Can I replace my SeaTalkng DST800 with a DST800 that will wire to the iTC-5? A1. Yes. While it is certainly possible to replace the SeaTalkng DST800 with the A22154 analog DST800, I typically recommend separate depth and speed/temp transducers for those seeking maximum depth and speed performance from an instrument. These two may be interfaced to the iTC-5 to supply depth/speed/temp data to the system. Q2. Given the iTC-5's separate connections for Depth and Speed/Temp it would seem I need a DST -800 with an eight wire cable to do that. A2. See the response to Q1 concerning the model of DST800 to be purchased should you choose to replace the SeaTalkng DST800 with a single analog DST800 transducer. The is not need for an additional wire, as the ground is shared within the analog DST800. |
