I am in process of upgrading electronics, installing a ES127, ES98 and CP 470. I will be going with the T7077 twin thru hull 1 kw transducers shortly. Can I use the existing M260 until the others are ordered and installed ?

What make/model of fishfinding product is or had the M260 previously been directly interfaced to?

Currently has a RL80 pathfinder and a dsm 250. I was thinking of adding a HS5 network switch and removing the dsm 250.

If seeking to continue driving the M260 (I have one on my own boat ... great transducer!) at 1kW for deep water operation, then it would be recommended that the DSM250 be replaced with a CP370 which would in turn be interfaced to the HS5 RayNet Network Switch. However, if you will be satisfied with driving the M260 at 600W, then the M260 may be adapted (part #E66066) to be mated to the TRANSDUCER socket of the eS127 MFD.

I have a CP 470 that I was planning to integrate. Will that work with the arrangement with the HS5 switch ?

While a CP470 may be interfaced to the HS5 RayNet Network Switch, the M260 Transducer cannot be interfaced to the CP470.

For what it's worth, I replaced a Furuno NavNet system with a BFF1 with Raymarine eS128 and eS 128 MFDs and a CP470. I swapped my M260 with an M265, and it works great. The good news is that you can keep the lower half of the m260 tank and just replace the top half, making the installation a snap. Airmar has a flysheet on how to do this.

So just for me to be clear, for the time being I can direct connect the M260 to the ES127 via adapter cable E66066. Then when I install the T7077 twin thru hulls I can connect them to the CP470 , then the Network HS5 switch to the 2 MFD's ?

A2. Correct. Please note that it would not be necessary to disconnect the M260 when the CP470 and CHIRP transducers are installed. Following installation of these items, the system would not only support 1kW CHIRP fishfinder features, but would continue to support 600W 50kHz and 200kHz sonar.

Thanks for that info, I have never used anything but a TM transducer, I bought the boat in fall and haven't even had it in the water.. I had it stripped painted and all interior redone. You don't pick up interference from the fiberglass ?
Last question, probably. Based on Striperstan's comment toward the M265 is it just as good an option as the T7077's. As I already had the housing installed and everything it would be a lot less trouble. I mostly troll and bottom fish. trolling in usually less than 600' and bottom usually less than 200'
