[DG11] GPS Malfunction - frank - 05-14-19 05:08 PM My old classic e80 chartplotter is giving me a message that it has lost the satellite. I believe the GPS part number is E32042. Is there a replacement part number? RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-15-19 07:08 AM Hi Frank, Thank you for your enquiry. The E32042 is the RS125 version of GPS. The current version of GPS is RS150 part number E70310. You will need to connect the RS150 via an E22158 SeaTalk to STng interface to enable the RS150 to connect to the Classic C80. The Drawing shows an RS130 connected via STng to a converter block, in this case, the RS130 can be replaced directly with an RS150 and connected in exactly the same way. Regards Derek RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - magic8 - 07-23-19 05:44 PM We have an E80 showing no fix and on the GPS status page cannot even restart GPS as all is greyed out.The GPS antenna( E32042) has a red flashing light and is connected to the sea talk via the autopilot controller.I understand to replace the antenna I would also require an E22158 adapter and cables. Is it possible to connect a new antenna to the NMEA connection on the autopilot controller without going to the expense of sea talk adapter. The autopilot controller (E12055)has both sea talk and NMEA connections. Thanks RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-24-19 06:15 AM Hi magic8 Thank you for your enquiry. The Current GPS antenna has failed, as indicated by the LED, the current replacement is the RS150 antenna and this outputs NMEA2000, ( which is also fully compatible with STng - Ray,marine's own data protocol) The new RS150 would need to be connected to the currrent SeaTalk network through the E22158 SeaTalk to STng converter, since your current products do not support STng. Your current autopilot NMEA connection only support NMEA0183 Regards Derek RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - magic8 - 07-24-19 03:52 PM Thank you for information I will try and find an antenna that outputs NMEA0183 first Failing that will have to go and also get a seatalk converter. Thanks again RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - magic8 - 07-25-19 12:51 AM From what you can see in the picture is it ok to fit new rs150 gps antenna in place of the old one and instead of connecting it to the autopilot connect it to the sea talkng connection on the adapter. Then connect the adapter to the seatalk connection on the autopilot. I think i also have to power the adapter and remove the power from the original seatalk system. Thanks Dave RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-25-19 07:17 AM Hi Magic8 Thankyou Derek RE: [DG11] GPS Malfunction - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-25-19 07:20 AM Hi Magic8 The converter is the best way to go and the proposal you made to fit the antenna where the old one was and to connect to STng instead of the old computer is the correct installation. regards Derek |
