[CA11] Extension cable for Axiom 9 to CTP-s - Trysail - 05-27-19 04:14 PM Hi, Any issues using a CTP-S transom mount transducer with an Axiom 9 MFD? Need the part number for an extension cable for a Raymarine CTP-S transom mount transducer I plan to use with an Axiom 9. 36.5 foot sailboat. Running cable from helm to forward of the keel. Shooting through a solid fiberglass hull. Likely set the transducer in silicone or possibly epoxy. Thanks Rob RE: [CA11] Extension cable for Axiom 9 to CTP-s - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 06-03-19 02:35 PM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Rob, Unlike the Axiom RV 9, the Axiom 9 MFD does not feature internal fishfinder circuitry and as such, cannot be directly mated to a fishfinder transducer. If considering use of a CPT-S transducer, then the Axiom 9 MFD should be interfaced to a CP100 DownVision Sounder Module, which in turn would be interfaced to the MFD or HS5 RayNet Network Switch via an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) Cable. DownVision, CPT-S, SideVision, and RealVision transducers are neither designed for nor supported for use as in hull transducers due to the relatively low power output of these transducers. If seeking an in-hull transducer for simply determining the numerical depth of the water depth beneath the transducer, then you may want to consider installation of the T70278 P79 Smart Transducer which in turn would be interfaced to the system's powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. If seeking fishfinding capabilities, then the CPT-S transducer would be a good choice for sailboats, but it would be necessary to install it as a thru-hull transducer. |
