[DG11] Ev-100 tillerpilot on OE-32 - bgudm - 05-28-19 08:33 AM

Hello, I wonder if there are available somewhere photos, schemas or description about fitting ev-100 pilot to an OE-32 boat (rudder hanging on a cano stern) ?
Thanks,
Bjarni

Hi Bjarni,

Thankyou for your enquiry,

the mounting of the tiller drive onto a boat with a canoe stern can be difficult because the geometry of the installation is very important.

I have attached a picture which shows the mounting for the drive on the Gunwhale of the boat, it means the drive is quite exposed, but this can work very well.

The key is to maintain the correct distance from the centreline of the rotational axis of the rudder pintles, and to ensure there is equal stroke either side of 'midships, making sure the drive unit is angled at 90 degrees to the tiller.

Kind regards
Derek

Thanks.
The boat has been with an st2000. I will basically use the same connection points - except I have to move thu hull fastening [censored] a bit outward to compensate for the longer actuator. Still to be tested at sea.

Hi Bjarni,

Thankyou for the feedback,

The ST2000 actuator is slightly shorter than the EV100 tiller actuator and so yes, the mounting point on the boat will need to be moved outboard a little.

Thanks
Derek
