[DG11] S100 basestation to Seatalkng - bgudm - 06-14-19 06:45 AM

Hi,
I recently bought an EV-100 autoilot kit and have alreadi installed it in the boat with the included Seatalkng (network or backbone). Earlier I had baught a S100 remote - but never put into use.
The S100 came with a spur to connect to the older Seatalk (which I dont have). My question is then: Do I need to buy a converter for Seatalk/Setalkng or would it be enough to buy a spur for the Seatalkng to replace the other one ?

Thanks,
Bjarni

Hi Bjarni,
Thank you for your enquiry.

The S100 is a SeaTalk device - using the earlier SeaTalk data protocol, the EVolution autopilot uses the current STng data protocol and the two are not compatible.

However, if you connect the S100 base station SeaTalk to a SeaTalk to STng converter, E22158, then the converter will be connected to the STng backbone and will enable the S100 to operate with the EVolution autopilot.

Regards

Derek
