[CA11] E120 classic with smart nmea 2000 transducer - [email protected] - 06-16-19 09:46 AM

I have a e120 classic from previous boat that I would like to install on an old mako (1976) that I am restoring. I see there are now “smart” nmea 2000 transducers available and I’m wondering what would the e120 classic do with the data from a nmea 2000 transducer? Will it just provide depth display or will it fully integrate into the normal e120 bottom contour display that I am used to.

Thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Dennis,

Smart depth/speed/temp transducers cannot be used to support a MFD's fishfinder application features. Smart depth/speed/temp transducers simply provide numerical data to the system. While the MFD would be capable of repeating data from such transducers, offsets, calibration, and alarms associated with data from these transducers would not be supported.
