[DG11] Obligatory with rudder sensor s2 computer and sail drive? - Johnsen - 06-26-19 02:19 AM

Hi

Is it obligatory to have a rudder sensor with the S2 computer? Or, can it work without?

Can I also use a newer sail drive along with S2 computer?

And I guess the S2 computer is working with a st6002+ ?

Im trying to figure out a budget solution since I already have a newer sail drive mounted but my st5000+ broke.

With regards
John

Hi John,
Thank you for your enquiry.

It is necessary to use a rudder reference unit with an S2 course computer.

You can use one of the current T1 Drive units with an S2 Course computer.

The S2 can be controlled with an ST6002+ control unit.

The S2 is quite an early product now, if you could find an S2G or SPX10 course computer, that would be better, also give better autopilot performance due to the built in Rate Gyro, which gives better quality heading information and allows the autopilot performance to be improved significantly.

Regards

Derek
