Upgrading from Ray 240 to 260 - Pdog1989 - 05-21-16 05:50 AM I have the 240 in a boat that is a nightmare to string new cable. Outside of the STNg cable, can I reuse existing cables for the handset, power, speaker etc saving me to rerun everything? Also, it talks about an active speaker vs passive speaker.....don't understand the difference Thanks RE: Upgrading from Ray 240 to 260 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-23-16 09:35 AM Pdog1989, When replacing a Ray240 with a Ray260, the Ray240 handset/second station cables must be replaced with handset/second station cables which are specifically designed for use with the Ray260. An active speaker is differentiated from a passive speaker in that an active speaker features an amplifier and volume knob, while a passive speaker has no volume knob and relies upon the base station for volume amplification. |
