[DG11] ST1000 tiller pilot interface to i70s - colin - 07-22-19 07:07 AM Wondering how one can interface my recently purchased ST1000 and i70s instrument including cables. RE: [DG11] ST1000 tiller pilot interface to i70s - Derek - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-24-19 06:49 AM Hi Colin, Thank you for your enquiry. The ST1000 will network via SeaTalk or NMEA0183. the simplest option is to connect an E22158 STng to SeaTalk converter into the i70 STng network and then use the SeaTalk connection from the converter to link to the ST1000. Regards Derek RE: [DG11] ST1000 tiller pilot interface to i70s - cmackg - 08-02-19 03:49 PM I have the same question, but I wonder could I instead make up a cable that connects the ST1000 to either the ITC-5, or a T-connector by the I70s? I have the I70s depth, speed wind bundle. And later, assuming I added a MFD screen, there'd be no other changes needed, right? It would all be on the network. The i70 is NMEA2000 only, to network the ST1000 with the i70 you will require the ST1 to STng convertor to enable them both to communicate to each other conncected on a small backbone. You cannot connect the ST1000 directly to the iTC-5 as the ST1000 is ST1 or NMEA0183 and the i70 is NMEA2000. The convertor (part no E22158) will convert ST1 data to STng (NMEA2000) data, please find further information here regarding the seatalk convertor. Many Thanks Louise |
