[CA11] new MFD and old Seatalk - sjeskilson - 07-31-19 01:32 PM

Hello,
so I just ordered an Axiom 7 to replace my OE 435i. Do I need to run new wiring to plug it in for power? Also, can it talk to my remaining legacy St60s and 4000+?
Thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum sjeskilson,

Q1. Do I need to run new wiring to plug it in for power?
A1. Yes. The Power/NMEA 2000 Cable supplied with the Axiom MFD must be used when replacing the RC435i.

Q2. Also, can it talk to my remaining legacy St60s and 4000+
A2. Yes. Raymarine offers the E22158 SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Kit to support interfacing ST60/ST60+ instruments and ST4000+/ST5000+ autopilots to currently manufactured chartplotting products such as Axiom. Please click here to view a thread in which I had previously addressed this subject.
