MFD causing radio static - Defiance Sportfishing - 05-25-16 11:52 AM When I turn on breaker for E125 MFD both VHF and 2 Meter radios get some static noise. When I power up the E125 the static noise gets even worse. When I hit the mic key on my VHF it stops the static on my 2 meter radio for a minute or so then it comes back on. Started having this problem when I added a second MFD. Any suggestions ? I tried a power filter on both radios and it did not help. Tested breaker switch and it's fine. Running out of ideas. In this case, it would be recommended that ferrite bead RF chokes be installed as close as is permissible to the MFD Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable's plug. Should this not resolve the problem, then it is recommended that the MFD and its Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable be sent to latest available Raymarine product software updates to be bench tested/serviced. |
