The manual doesn't mention a limit on length -- it appears my boat needs 9 inches of extensiontubes to reach the cockpit wall. Is there any problem with adding a 6 & 3 in tube? Or a 5 & 4?

The maximum recommended total length for a tiller pilot push rod extension is 10". Raymarine offers 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6" tiller pilot push rod extensions (D003, D004, D005, D006, D007, and D008 respectively) to support this end. In this case, your suggestions to add 6" & 3" extensions or 5" & 4" extensions may indeed be used to create the additional length required.
