[CA11] Classic E80 Series mounting gasket - distand - 08-06-19 05:12 AM

Would anyone have a suggestion on what I could use for a gasket for an E80 MFD. I need to re-mount my unit and I don't see that the original gaskets are still available. I was thinking I might need to use some silicone or possibly some butyl rubber (rubber cement it together). I will be updating to a newer unit in the near future but for now I do need to continue using the E80.

Thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum distand,

Raymarine provides surface mount gaskets which are manufactured from neoprene. Silicone or similar sealants would not typically be recommended as a substitute for the supplied gaskets, primarily because the such sealants can very difficult to remove and may damage plastic parts. I found this relatively inexpensive neoprene sheet from Grainger during a quick search of the Internet.
