[CA11] No Wind Vane Mode on Evolution Autopilot - stephen_i_w - 08-24-19 10:49 PM
I recently purchased a Catalina 315 with Raymarine instrumentation. Although wind information is available on the network and also the MFD can control the Autopilot, wind vane mode is unavailable. Everything else in the system seems to work well. I have attached a diagram of the Network

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Stephen,
Unlike other autopilot features, Wind Vane mode must be commanded via the autopilot's control head, and cannot be commanded via the LightHouse 3 Autopilot Controls user interface. A feature request has been logged to consider this feature for inclusion within a future LightHouse 3 software update.

Thank you for your response. The wind vane mode is also not available on the P70 pilot head either. The pilot head does not even show it as an option.

Please ensure that the Vessel Hull Type configuration setting (MENU->SET-UP->AUTOPILOT CALIBRATION->VESSEL SETTINGS->VESSEL HULL TYPE) has been configured to one of the three Sail options. Please additionally verify that the Wind data item, when configured to be displayed on the p70/p70S autopilot control head, is populated rather than dashed.
