[CA11] Interfacing an Axiom to a 7 pin transducer - scooper321 - 09-25-19 06:33 AM Looking to slowly upgrade my 2003-era electronics. Replacing the RS125/RN300 combo with an Axiom would be pretty straight forward. The Axiom would (for now) be a companion display to my RL80C plotter/radar. I was thinking about the Axiom with no sonar, and would later add a second Axiom with radar and a basic transducer (I don’t fish so I don’t need any of the high tech sonars). But I just learned I can likely use the transducer currently on my boat, which is connected to a DSM250. It’s a seven pin transducer, but I don’t know which model. It’s at best a dual 200/50kHz transducer with max power 1000W. All the transducers of that era were either 600W or 10000W. Can I reuse this transducer use a nine pin to seven pin adapter cable to connect directly to the Axiom? There appear to be several different 9 to 7 pin adapter cables available. Which one would I use? Thanks, Steve RE: [CA11] Interfacing an Axiom to a 7 pin transducer - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 09-25-19 09:58 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Steve, Q. Can I reuse this transducer use a nine pin to seven pin adapter cable to connect directly to the Axiom? A. Should the currently installed fishfinder transducer have been mated to a DSM250 as you have indicated and should it have been directly (w/o adaptation) mated to the DSM250, then it may simply be adapted (part #A80485) to be mated to the Transducer socket of an Axiom DV 7 MFD. RE: [CA11] Interfacing an Axiom to a 7 pin transducer - scooper321 - 09-25-19 05:28 PM Thanks. After writing the original post I realized that the Axiom I’m considering (12â€) doesn’t come in a DV version. RV only. So it looks like the A80489 Adapter Cable is the one for me, just like the thread two prior to this. Lol.
