[CA11] Depth finder vs fishfinder - Timmacdonald - 09-29-19 11:15 AM I have a transducer connected to an autohelm tridata. I’ve started to lose bottom in anything over 30 feet. The hull was recently scraped so I believe the transducer is going bad. Question: are there any depth reading/navigational/anchoring benefits of a fishfinder vs just replacing the transducer. I don’t really need for fishing. Thanks! These include: - bottom trending / plot ... provides at a glance situational awareness regarding whether depth is increasing or decreasing and how quickly - bottom hardness ... of value to those who anchor - structure location (reef, coral head, wrecks, etc.) |
