I will be using an ITC-5 to connect wind and STW transducers to the STNG backbone. I note that it has a connection for a rudder transducer as well. Is there any preference between connecting the rudder sensor to the ITC-5 vs. connecting it to an ACU-200 directly? There will only be one rudder position sensor in the system.

Within systems featuring a Raymarine autopilot, the rudder reference transducer must be interfaced to the ACU or autopilot course computer.
