I'm interested in a flir m232 camera. i found refurb for around $1000 less than new on Hodges Marine:

Here is what they say about factory warranty:
"What Does Remanufactured Mean?
Remanufactured units are inspected, repackaged returns from mass merchants, typically new units that the manufacturers cannot sell as new. They sell to us in bulk and we pass on the savings to you. All remanufactured units come with a manufacturer’s warranty."
I'd like to know if this is actually true. The web is full of inaccurate details and once they have your cash, you are stuck.

The dealer's statements regarding Factory Refurbished Raymarine products and Factory Refurbished FLIR fixed mount thermal cameras are true. These Factory Refurbished products are covered by the 2-Year Standard Limited Warranty. The 3-Year Extended Limited Warranty is not applicable to these Factory Refurbished products.
